Assistive Technology - Upcoming Free iPad Workshops

November 1, 2017

Join us for upcoming workshops at 817 Division St., Kingston, ON

  • Saturday November 25 9:30 am - 11:30 am
    Workshop: iPad Practice

iPad hands-on workshop for individual or small group work, using our devices or yours. Ask your pressing questions about getting things done with the iPad (e.g., read to me, scan documents to text, annotate documents or photos, note-taking). Try an introduction to coding with our Lego robot.

Use your own iPad or one of ours.
Limited enrollment. Registration required.

Here are some kinds of things you could ask us about:

How do I...

  • Have text read to me

  • Dictate and turn it into typed text I can listen to

  • Record spoken voice in audio format, link audio to written notes

  • Make text easier to read (simplify the text - e.g., rewordify)

  • Get help with reading: e.g., find word definitions

  • Scan documents into text so they can be read to me

  • Use predictive typing (word suggestions to choose from)

  • Get help with writing: check my grammar, mind maps, find synonyms

  • Use my handwriting and draw notes

  • Annotate documents and pictures

  • Get help spelling: (e.g., Siri, dictionaries, voice dictation)

  • Wednesday November 29 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
    SESSION CANCELLED

Workshop: I Didn’t Know My iPad Could Do That
